This year for Giving Tuesday we are excited to announce that we will be donating a portion of our sales for the day to a wonderful program called Beads of Courage. We are proud to be one of their main suppliers and have a soft spot in our hearts for their cause!
Beads of Courage was founded 15 years ago by Jean Gribbon and is a non-profit organization based out of Tucson, Arizona. Since its creation, Beads of Courage has partnered with over 240 hospitals, in 8 different countries to provide beads for children coping with serious illnesses so that they may record and tell their own stories of courage. Each bead in their kit represents a symbol of hope and courage shown throughout the child's treatment program. We love that they chose beads as the perfect option for their program, referring to them being used similar to medals and ribbons, and tokens of their journey and accomplishments. Beads have such a rich history of offering healing, luck and protection for heroes and warriors, which we imagine is how Jean wanted these kids to feel when they overcame a challenging or scary procedure. We couldn't agree more and are thrilled to support Beads of Courage this Giving Tuesday!
